Hotel Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seville

The location, the staff, the room was exceptional, spacious and clean, swimming pool area was great, breakfast was amazing

The location is just perfect and the Alfonso XVIII is such a beautiful hotel - really breathtaking, we loved the terrace and the American Bar and the staff were fabulous. I was rather worried because we had to print off some passenger locator forms to get back to the UK and Sonia was very helpful with getting everything printed in reception for us. We have stayed in Seville many times but this was our first stay at the Alphonso XVIII and we were not disappointed.

We were upgraded to a beautiful suite for our wedding anniversary, treated to chocolate strawberries and Spanish cava, and our bed was decorated with rose petals on turn-down! There is a lovely swimming pool complex and just before sundown the waiters come around with complementary delicious homemade ice-cream of a different flavour each day. We ate in the casual outdoor terrace restaurant (Ena) on our anniversary night and the food was excellent and we enjoyed looking out over the romantic street view with illuminated fountain and horse and carriage riders passing by. The breakfast offered in the San Fernando atrium restaurant in the morning was wonderful and had all the choices you could wish for in a five-star hotel including an excellent omelette station, super coffee and fresh croissants. The hotel staff were helpful and courteous and arranged for us to store our luggage the next day until evening, issuing us with a pool pass to use the pool and shower facilities before our evening flight

We got upgraded to a room with a terrace. The room was big, the bed was comfortable, the room was quiet despite the hotel being in the centre of town. Fantastic location near the Alcazar, Seville Cathedral, Maria Luisa Park, bars and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was our first time there but they made you feel welcome as if you were a returning guest. Room service was fast and friendly too - we got room service on the first night after we landed late at night and the food arrived in about 15 minutes and was still hot and tasty. A full service true 5-star hotel, turn down service, chocolates on pillows and all. The rooms are beautiful with lots of details of their long history. Large bathrooms. Great toiletries. On our last night we got a little surprise when we returned to our room - a bottle of sparkling and a beautifully light cake for my birthday. We even got given a token from the niche perfumerie to take away with us - a good farewell gift. Could not recommend it more highly.

Excellent staff, all extremely helpful and courteous and very friendly. The restaurant, bar and pool area were really lovely with excellent service. We also thought the room was beautiful with a very comfy bed
